Stilo Alarm Chirp

Does anyone Know if you can get the "Alarm chirp" on arm and disarm turned off.

I have asked on dealer and they said they couldn't. but i'd like a second opinion..

I also tried finding out from the dealer if it can be switched off, and they said no.

Re: Stilo Alarm Chirp

This can be turned off via Examiner, surely?

Or is your local dealer too lazy! I have the 'chirp' on mine, yet others don't, so must be an option somewhere.

Examiner is the bit of kit they use to access your cars computer, via the OBD port under the dash.

Re: Stilo Alarm Chirp

Was there not a bulletin issued to Fiat dealers about how to turn on the flashing sidelights to let you know the car had locked (Bulletin 22 I think)?

The alarm beep may be included in that.

Thumbs up Re: Stilo Alarm Chirp

You need to order a code card, and then you can change the settings using the examiner.

You can change things like indicator flash when arming/disarming, alarm chirps etc.

Re: Stilo Alarm Chirp

Umm, my alarm dosen't chirp; but the lights flash when being armed/disarmed?! My old der's stilo dosent do either?!

Do you have to have extra piece to the alarm in the brio catalogue for it to do this (chirp that is)!!

Dont fink tht my dealer would change the settings on my alarm bcos he couldnt be arsed to set the lights to flash on my old ders stilo when its armed/disarmed!! Dam lazy dealerships!

Re: Stilo Alarm Chirp

Sounds like it needs to be changed over to 'chirp'.

I ordered a code card for mine a few months back - not expensive, plus you never know when you may need it.

Abarth Alarm Problem "Return to Dealer"

My loved '52 Abarth has suddenly started telling me about a problem with the Alarm and advises me to "Return to Dealer" - yeah, like I really want to do that! At first I thought it just another false alert but it has been persistant - every time I start up.

A couple of tests and it seems that the alarm is working except for the ultrasonic interior protection.

Anyone had any issues with this in the past? Just my luck, it's now out of third year warranty - probably wouldn't have been covered anyway!

Any comments (relevant ) welcomed.

The only problem I ever had was that the alarm was too sensitive and kept being set off by any passing cars. Dealer desensitised the ultrasonics in accordance with Fiat's instructions - ie stuffing material into the sensors - rather like earplugs. No problems since then. Talk about bringing hi-tech down to earth!

Alarm Questions

I had a new boot locking mechanism fitted by fiat last week as this was what was causing my boot light not to light up.

Now when i press the button on my remote to open the boot it unlocks it, but when i lift the boot the alarm goes off. This never used to happen before they changed the lock. Any sugestions or is back to the dealer once again!!!!

Cheers

Re: Alarm Questions

Just checked ePER thinking that the lock mechanism may be different for versions with an alarm but its the same . . .

I'd go back to the dealer; when you hit the boot unlock button on the remote, the body computer should deactivate the alarm's sensors (both volumetric and the boot perimeter) until the boot is closed. Then, when the boot is closed, the body computer indicates all monitoring is reactivated by flashing all indicators twice.

Can't see what they could do to make it not work now; maybe the need to reset something?

Re: Alarm Questions

its normally due to adjustment, the b/c needsto see an instant change in the switch so the boot is probably adjusted too loose.
