Keeps switching to N?

Right, i've had the bloody thing 6 days and now it decides to switch to neutral when I stop (only sometimes, & think only when it's cold? but not sure...)

Could it be a sensor or is it something I am doing? in the manual it mentions if you don't move for 3 minutes it switches to N but i'm not waiting 3 minutes?, it does it almost instantaneously...

Any ideas!? Thanks in advance, Dean.

Re: Keeps switching to N?

Sometimes shifts to neutral when system pressure is lost / goes low, would need to check pressure reading with examiner when the fault occurs TBH.

Re: Keeps switching to N?

like fiattech said, when my pump went the system lost pressure and the car going into N is a failsafe so the car can be towed.

The main pressure pump is what it could be... it is worthwhile getting it diagnosed correctly though 1st rather than guessing

Re: Keeps switching to N?

Apparently a few hundred quid... say £500-£600. Not cheap I'm afraid. best not to worry about it until you get it diagnosed by Examiner though, it could be any number of things as the gearbox relies on a fair few sensors.

In the meantime, have a look at this website to give you a better understanding of the gearbox. it's really useful.

Good luck!
