(T) Radio sensitivity

Perhaps someone can help, is there anyway on checking the sensitivity of the radio, the reason being let me explain, some time now the radio will auto tune to all the BBC stations but non of the local stations I have checked the sensitivity setting in setup and its set to distant and I have manualy tuned the local stations in and they are all ok with no distortion or loss and the RDS also comes up with the radio station, but if I hit the tune button the radio will only find BBC station Radio 1,2,3,4,classical & WM, I was told that there is a code that can be inserted to alter the sensitivity is this true. PS the aeriel is ok
