Re: monroe shocks okay for stilo?

Not sure about monroe, but many of us here, including myself, have had great results with Boge shocks available here. I've got Boge Turbo shocks on the front, and they're superb.

Thanks to PNL for, as usual, steering me in the right direction...again!

Re: monroe shocks okay for stilo?

Had Monroe Gas-matic on my previous car. Great shocks, gived them to friend after 7 years of usage, who is tuning his car. They're still in great shape, unbeleivable (or not, since that was very light car - 800kgs). Probably they were not moving at all, the whole car movement was absorbed with tyres. You could jump in the trunk, and the car was only jumping on tyres, extremely fun to ride, but the girls always had to hold their tits no to loose them how stiff the suspension was.

Can't say how they work on Stilo, but Monroe should be serious company, and I have good personal experiance with their shocks.

Cool Re: monroe shocks okay for stilo?

Boge are OA suppliers to Volvo and Audi so that says a great deal for the quality of the product .. I will say this tho and its important to know that on most none original parts such as shocks the fiat spring catcher bodge wont fit it as usually the diameter of the shocks different from the fiat one

Re: monroe shocks okay for stilo?

That's why everyone should get entire suspension solution from supplier. If I was replacing my suspension with aftermarket, I would've put shocks and absorbers together.

I'm considering KoNi entire solution (stiffness adjustable shocks), but don't like the amount of lowering a car (30 or 35mm less). You just get less usable car, although more fun to ride. Factory suspension on my JTD works just fine. I'm only afraid of that spring breaking issue, but it seems that clima here in Serbia is not as in UK, so there are zero broken springs on Stilos till now. Anyway, I'll try to get that spring catcher from official FIAT representatives here (just making friends overthere ).
