| Tyre Advice Needed on 17" Claws I'm torn between either the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 XL (215/45 17), or Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 (225/45 17). The 215's are £104 per corner and the others are £2 less. I understand both will fit claws? Am I right in saying the 215's are a lower profile tyre, as the width of the tread is smaller but the percentage (45) is the same? Sorry for the somewhat pointless questions, just want to get everything clear before I go shelling out some serious cash on 4 new tyres! Waited long enough to fit them and want these alloys out of my room and on the car now! Edit: Would I be wrong to assume that a lower profile tyre would also mean less mileage use? Doing 100 miles a day so this is on my mind also!

| Re: Tyre Advice Needed on 17" Claws yes youre right the profile would be smaller but this would be litterally mms or even fractions of mms there would be no visual differance hope this helps youre decision

| Re: Tyre Advice Needed on 17" Claws Cheers for the reply. Yeah didnt think there'd be much difference between the two! Just noticed theres some claws in the classifieds with 205/40/17 on. This profile is cheaper to buy (not same brand but that's hardly an issue here!), so can save a bit more to go towards sorting the ride hight, think 45mm should be enough without tearing the bottom off over them half humps!

| Re: Tyre Advice Needed on 17" Claws to be honest i wouldnt drop it that far when i did mine i only went down 35mm and with the standard 16s on it was a nightmare it scraped on almost every bump in the road til i put the 18s on now it still catches on the odd occasion

| Re: Tyre Advice Needed on 17" Claws I've had mine lowered 35mm and it's ok if you're careful though i believe this is down to the engine cover hangin down. There are people around here who have had it seriously lowered and have had no problems whatsoever. As for you choice of tyres; the Eagle F1 is an excellent tyre and works very very well with the Stilo, this said it is also quite a soft tyre so wear is also high!!!
