engine bay styling

Had a bit of a tinker on the weekend in my bay (engine bay), thought id post the pics, just need to paint my engine cover now

Before:

After:

Not the most in depth mod ever (a nice shade of fiat blue though), but the start of something glorious when its finished, with a nice silver engine cover with fiat name in white and blue.

Re: engine bay styling

How about powder coating some of the nasty black covers? I'm trying to fit a 20V coupe rocker cover to mine which will be crinklecoted if not I'll be powder coating the lot... oh and silicon hosing? Pete (Oldschool) is currently working on the coolant pipes for the 2.4 for me. and possibly a stainless steel strut brace..

Re: engine bay styling

The stuff i used was from autoworld or you can mail order it some places on the net, they may even sell it in the new argos catalogue
If you want to find it on the net, type in chromaflow hose and wire kit, its around 20 nuggets but i ended up with quite abit left. It comes with some blue cable ties, bin them straight away cus they're rubbish and will make it look cheap and chavy.

Phil should be able to tell you more about the braided hoses, id be quite interested to hear about them myself, i know hes mentioned them recently in another thread too....

Hope this helps

Ok for those who wish to know about the braided brake hoses listen carefully cos I vill say this vonce onaly[bad french accent ]www.balancemotorsport.co.uk speak to Julian mention my name if you wish I'm sure he will remember me it took 3 weeks to sort out the specks for these hoses and in the end[because fiat wouldn't give him specks] he bought a set and absorbed the cost as R&D hell of a nice bloke and the hoses made one hell of a difference to the efficiency of my stilo's brakes I know have to apply less pedal pressure with better braking its got far more bite than before big thunbs up

Nick one little issue that came up on a astra coupe 2ltr being remapped on fri was the crinkle coating he had on parts of his engine it was said that this was holding in to much heat in the engine and a chrome coating would be better and disperse more of the heat and Shhhhhh about the braces as there's something in the pipeline for the future dont want people pestering Oldschool until R&D has been done

Just in case some peeps misunderstand which brake hoses I am referring to its the ones that connect to the brake calipers front and back these are stainless steel braided covering rubber and there is a transparent cover over the braiding as well this cover you can have a colour of your choosing [more or less ]I chose red as my calipers are painted red very and very functional also so yes when you remove and fit these new ones the entire braking system will require bleeding. Now the one I mentioned from the servo to manifold I also wish to change for stainless braided but have yet to locate one of the correct specs
