steering wheel stereo controls help

i was wondering if anyone knew how to get them to work with an aftermarket stereo?

i have a pioneer avic x1r and this is campatible with it http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products...-HW/index.html

but it doesnt list the stilo as a compatible car. strangley it does list the new gp? any ideas? and anyone know how you would fit these things?

Re: steering wheel stereo controls help

Just been looking round the net to see if i could find an answer for you, but out of all the different adaptors out there no one seems to do one thats compatible with the stilo......i guess its the age old stilo problem of not enough people bought them so they dont expect enough interest in products for them so dont make them for it

Re: steering wheel stereo controls help

well i came to two conclusions, yours and that they never bothered testing them on the stilo. i mean how different can the stereo in the gp and the ulysee be to the stilo?

Re: steering wheel stereo controls help

For all you know it could work in a Stilo.......they might just have forgotten about it, or like you say may not have bothered testing it, never had any dealings with a ulysee so cant comment on the radio in that but the one in the GP doesnt appear to be anything special, obviously mines got the blue&me stuff but i cant see that making much difference

Re: steering wheel stereo controls help

its the CAN system, quirky thing to add on stuff to, hence why a lot of things dont work with the stilo.

as far as im aware, the steering wheel controls are on the CAN.

as for products that have worked with the stilo without being listed/tested as working:
