Bloody hell thats one way of doing it!! I should charge more every time ;-)

You dont have to go from underneath, you can do it all from on top (fnaar). Its not the easiest job in the world on the Stilo and the Abarth is the worst of the lot!

Hi - I have one as well. A great addition to the car, more so with the remap as well.

As for noise, totally different to the K&N - I get a big surge at around 4000rpm onwards, which is great. This, and remap, possibly adds around 20bhp to the car.

I am very pleased with mine

Right after being asked by someone today "how often do you need to clean the BMC airfilter" I have found the original warranty certificate & it says cleaning should be once every 25,000kms(15-18,000miles).

as with any filter a lot is down to where you drive, when i was doing a lot of country driving with my old cavvy turbo i found i had to clean the filter with an airline every few 1000 miles as it was ful of crap. but i only did a 'proper' clean with oils etc in about 20,000 IIRC

Well the mileage I've quoted is what BMC themselves recommend. I take it that it is a thorough clean with the necessary fluids.

Thanks for that Benny

I will have to try and work out when I had it fitted now won't be just yet, but reckon a clean may be in order before winter.
