Noticed today my mk2 punto 16v nearly overheated, and removed my resistor unit, before I found this post. the bare resistance wire broke in 3 places! and the core its wrapped round broke in 2 pieces as well!! not sure if the fan has ever worked in my ownership, even in the summer i was just lucky as Ive never heard the fan run.
