As a cyclist I would have moved over to the right so the person sat in the drivers seat of the 500 would have needed to slow down and avoid the near miss completely but some people don't plan ahead at all. Nice to see the Porsche didn't brake. Confident considering the fuel tank is the crumple zone in those.

ive had it with these 'policeman cctv cyclists' going dangerously slow on country roads!

There are a million of these videos on YouTube. And the keyboard warriors are growing in numbers every day.

Yes he could have left more space, or checked further ahead or given the cyclist more space, but there are about 40 million cars on the road and everyday people make mistakes and get things wrong, we're all human after all.

I know I've been caught out on these situation and now try to give cyclists a wide birth but it doesn't always work out for people it's just now there are loads of people with cameras who go out of there way to post anything they can that even remotely looks a bit close.

What makes me laugh is seeing the cars with the cameras on the dash driving like complete idiots and thinking to myself "I bet they won't be posting those videos but they are quick enough to complain if someone gets a bit close or pulls out on them in a way they they have to accelerate to then beep at them.

There is a very good reason insurance companies won't take dash cams serious.

In any case does the owner of this car deserve to have their number plate plastered all over the net especially when cars change hands and you could end up buying the car of a complete moron and getting all the abuse about something that has nothing to do with you

Perspective is difficult to judge on video but if you count from when the fiat passes to when the Porsche passes it's close to 4 seconds. A lifetime.

Love this idiot:

This video was caught by a rider in Norfolk and released by police with the permission of the riders family.

It happened on a notorious part of the A47 the Idea was to make people aware of the dangers of bike riding.

The issue here is how many people consider when they strap a camera on , that it might be more than just someone cutting them up or being a bit of a dick that they capture. It might actually be your last words you capture.

I had a near miss a few years ago. I was on a 2 lane motorway on my daily commute in my usual 65 to 75mph zone. So yes I was to some extent on autopilot, the road was pretty quiet.

I was coming up to a slower vehicle and I DID check my mirrors, indicate and start to pull out. Then from what appears to be from no where I've got a bike behind/along side me. These things are impossible to judge but if I was doing 70 he must have been doing 140mph+

He freaks out and does the usual gestures. Who's fault would it have been if he'd spattered himself along the M53!?

I'm a car driver so I would be the villain. But I'm also human.

Well done guys. (y)

Exactly what I was hoping for. :)

I don't think I was very clear but basically I think your a muppet for posting something that has nothing to do with you and isn't exactly crime of the century and creating a permanent record of that persons registration number.....

Was that what you were aiming for ?
