Smoke on the A33

Hi All,

While proceeding in a southernly direction on the A33, South of the M4, late this afternoon, I became aware of a lot of blue smoke being emitted from a vehicle coming in the opposite direction. It was like the final moments of a formula I racing car, only said vehicle was a Psychadelic Azure GP, Dynamic - I think. The car rapidly ground to a halt and I considered doing a 180 degree turn at the next roundabout, but felt that it would take more than my limited skills to get this one going again!

I drove through the smoke and tried to work out what type of oil it was but to no avail. This must be every driver's nightmare!

Mike

It was! The GP was fortunately right next to the lay-by near a bridge over the A33 when he appeared to lose power so he dived in there and stuck his hazards on.

Mine's a white Sporting but it will soon be an aquamarine Volvo C30. If you are a regular on the A33 then I shall look out for you!

Re: Smoke on the A33

I use it quite often. I'm down there tomorrow to take the car to Alan Gibson for the gearbox leak to be fixed. I'll keep a look out for you. Cheers m8

I do high mileage and it is likely to be topping 20k next year so I have gone for the 2.0D. I hate phones and have no friends(!) so there is little point in investing in the expensive accessory.

I hope AG can fix Marty's oil leak.

Cheers m8 they did. Rather than change the oil seal they fitted a complete new selector mechanism to the g/box. Got to go back tomorrow to have the drivers seat backrest cover replaced (busted zip) then she is all ready for our mammoth trek round Southern Ireland next week, figuring on doing 2500-3000 miles in a week. Glad i got a good reliable car eh! Good luck with the new Volvo m8
