Air Cooled Punto ?? - Southsea

I was driving back from Eastney last night i saw a punto S driving driving in the opposite direction. I honestly thought it was a beetle, it sounded seriuosly air cooled

was probably running on 3 cylanders and mis firing pmsl.

Probably Beau hahah .

Oh and by the way beetle engines sound like that because they are of 'flat' configuration(horizontal stroke rather than vertical) not because they are air cooled. Subaru Impreza WRX's use the same layout as it means for lower centre of gravity which means for better cornering .

lol anythings possible within reason and budget of course. I'd rather turbo charge the 16v engine thus keeping weight down .

and because they're air cooled, not having the water 'jacket' to suppress the noise.

my tipo when it's manifold was blowing sounded like a beetle. i was ashamed.

Re: Air Cooled Punto ?? - Southsea

the 16v puntos (especially the HGT engine) sound seriously like a flat 4 when equipped with a GSR induction kit, from the outside
