| Trans fluid Hey all: I am here in Germany and have a 79, 2000, the only mannual trans fluid I can get is the that is 90W GL-1 is the Slick 50 Brand, I have called places in the states and they wil not ship the royal purple overseas because it is hazardous materials, do you think that the Slick 50 Brand 80-90w gl1 fluid will be ok. All of the fluid on the economy is running about $20 a liter,(due to the exchange rate, it blows). Thanks in advance steve b.

| Re: Trans fluid Hi, I used AC/Delco Sychromesh transmission fluid (8$/lr) in my Spider and Redline MT-90 in my X 1/9. Both work and shift good. It is equivalent to GL-1. I beleive that Honda has their own product too that is a bit thicker. Don't use 80w90 you'll destroyed your sychromesh. 80w90 retains the gears on the main input shaft while shifting and grinds them. Synchromesh fluid has the right viscosity to allow a certain gears spinning while shifting to properrly engage them (not too much not too little). Bob
