electrical????

weird problem here.... wonder if anyone's come up with a similar or same problem.

signal lights work exterior but the indicators on the dash do not indicate left or right.

dash lights are on... good

horn... press and I can hear a relay click someplace but no horn sound.....

this is my first Fiat and I'm quite proud of her.... just don't want to spend a small fortune making it "legal"

thanks in advance

Re: electrical????

Check the bulb for the dash indicator: there is only one and it is for both left and right. Check the connectors and grounds also. Check the ground for the horn. The grounds in Spiders are known for going bad but cleaning them and coating with a dielectric grease will restore full function.

Re: electrical????

thank you very much for your information.

when you say check ground for the horn, are you meaning the grounding just behind the horn button or is there a seperate centralized ground under the dash?

Re: electrical????

The ground that the horn itself uses. Follow the ground wire from the horn and you will find the grounding point. It is possibly on crown mounted on the left inner fender near the front of the car. The "hot" wire shoud go to the relay.

Re: electrical????

Excellent. I'll have a look at that tomorrow.

Tomorow she's off to the paint shop for a good sand down (maybe sandblast) and a few layers of good paint. Should be in tip top shape for the spring!
