Lightbulb Possible new forum rating?

I think, after having alot of seemingly idiot questions answered, that there should be a new rating system for users indicating their expertise and the help they give people.
I think the rating should be Guru or some variation of and the first recipient should be Jug.
His help to me and others has been constant, unstinting (and without any of the usual phrases that indicate the asker should be locked up in a small room somewhere with nothing more technical than a copy of the "Beano" ) and very, very accurate.
I hope some other forum users that have been helped in this manner will lend their support to this campaign.
Post here if you agree with me (if you don't Bugger off lol)

Re: Possible new forum rating?

wow thanks for the nomination mate

a previous forum i used to use had a similar system in place, and it ended up getting so competitive with the regulars that every time you got something wrong people demanded i got "demoted" to a lower rating, and everytime someone was right they expected some kind of praise and recognition. everytime i made a mistake i was put back on "grease monkey", or even "kwik-fit fitter" if i was really wrong. happy days

Re: Possible new forum rating?

We had this system in place twice now - first time was a free for all, got heavily abused

Then it was made just so that mods could give it - then that was stopped as well

Re: Possible new forum rating?

Ah well, it was just a thought. Kinda helps people decide who they should and shouldn't take advice from, but i can see how it could get competitive and would be open to abuse.
I'm a bit like an altzheimers patient, i just say what's on my mind without real thought to the consequences lol.
But if it did exist Jug would get my vote
