a new members cars layout

if you look at the car list on this site http://www.gt4oc.net/ you will see what i mean. we could incorporate it into the sign up process with an option not to give the info. could get some very interesting and reliable stats then.

and a pm reminder every 6mths or so to have the option to change details should we change cars!

what do you think? is it a good idea?

Re: a new members cars layout

the way that website does it is like data collection. it asks you specifics. ie model engine colour spec and puts it in a spreadsheet format. then you can click on members cars and brows the lists. you can also use it for limited edition cars. like they have for the carlos sainz celica. we could do it for the shummi etc!

c'mon does no-one think this would be a good idea, and think of the time saved by the mods who constantly update the manual lists.

I'm in favour of the change. Would make searching for a particular vehicle easier. It would also stop the need for people to post on the bottom of threads there car details, if there was a section to show mods installed.

BEN, dont suppose you have had chance to look at the car list on that webside and understand what i mean. the poll suggests other ff members believe it would be a good idea

Re: a new members cars layout

This is no small task and with vb3.6 coming out very soon, would most likely have to be rewritten again after anyway.

Once vB is out, I'll add it to my list of things to do

yeah was worried it would be difficult to impliment, but the end result would make things so much simpler and easier for the mods thanks for looking into it though ben

Good idea, but what if you have more than 1 car?

Re: a new members cars layout

im sure we could work it so that one of the first questions you are prompted with is 'how many fiats to you own/drive?'

then use a drop down format like when using a car insurance website. then just collate the data that way!
