Arrow Regional Co-ords?

Does this site have any? Just wondering really as the Vx club I'm a member of does.... I think the forums could do with more than just one major meet per year (per region or as a whole). It seems like there's more going on "down South" than there is further "oop North" (ie Xmas Bash) and for some, this is just too far to travel and so miss out on meets etc.

I'm not talking cruise style meets but something a bit more grown up. I know people can arrange meets by themselfs but it just seems a little too dis-organised.

Re: Regional Co-ords?

Hi Stilo

This has been talked about before, we ended up with just me and Sammiboo as organisers LOL...it can be quite difficult as we normally have to go with the majority for the main events and then people do mini meets as well..however if you give us an idea of the kind of citys/areas of the country that you would like to see the meets at we will deffo take it into consideration when looking at places

Even the NI members meet up. We're in our own club but a lot of us are on here.

Re: Regional Co-ords?

I think when Ben gets the Map working, so that we can see where other members are, more mini regional meets will take place...

Re: Regional Co-ords?

why dont you do a 'where are you' thread in the ll. get ppl to copy and paste theyre name and nearest city or region. then you should be able to group ppl for meets etc. this would work until ben gets the map sorted?

Re: Regional Co-ords?

I was just going of the "Manchester meet" thread in the events forum. Would it not be better to have a couple of high attendance meets rather than just a few members turning up? I'm not saying there hasn't been any meets, it just seemed a little disorganised.

Maybe different regions could meet up and have competitions running between them? Not necessarily car related but things like bowling, 5 a side football etc.

Just a thought...

Re: Regional Co-ords?

i am the self crowned north wales co-ord

there is interest in a manc meet and there is a thread about a meet at cheshire oaks involving other clubs too

you dont need to rely on the 'proper' event co-ords to organise a meet, there job is for weekenders and shows , if you want a meet let it be known and go from there, there was one in stoke last year organised by yours truely , turn out was good

Re: Regional Co-ords?

I agree, ended up doing a Manchester meet with Sammi earlier in the year which went well, now it's more a case of being able to fit stuff in than anything else!

What exactly have i taken over?

Me and Helz organised the NW meet, I organised the stands because no one else would take it on and the xmas bash wasnt supposed to be organised by us, but through circumstances it had to be...

so whats your point?!!

the forum has plenty of meets... ive noticed you registered over a year ago, but your complaining about something you have never been to

We had a rally which was based all around the north west last year.

We had a york meet.

Had a north west weekend in february.

The forum events are usually based in the midlands so easy for all to attend, not down south.

Helz and I tried to organise a north west meet this summer but no enough interest, also tried to organise another rally but again not enough interest.

There is no point in trying to organise too many meets a year otherwise you dont get many people attending.

Like i said in another thread, there is nothing stopping people orgainsing mini meets!
