Surely that would be impossible, as someone would have to go to every single scrap yard to list what cars they have there & go there reguarly to update it.
Yeah, impractical to have a stock list but would be very useful to have a list of breakers that people have used with maybe a 5-star rating system for price, service, etc.
I think somebody should make a website where scrap yards can list every car they have in stock. It would be so usefull.
I dont think it would be impossible but if i went to scarpyard and and saw a couple of punto's there and, or maybe a bravo, i just put it on a thread with the location and tel number and model and hey presto, every one can see where they are......
Well they would only see the list you made from one scrapyard

The problem with it being a thread though is that they are easily lost if people don't post to them regularly. A search may bring it up but considering it was started in 2005, even the last 10 posts are most likely not even be relevant anymore.
I personally still think that it would be best placed in the same sort of vain as the Garage uses with insurance companies, ratings for service, value etc... sure it would take time to implement though ofc ...

There is a website that does this for you http://www.partsgateway.co.uk/
You just fill out what make and model and what part you're after, they then send it off to specialist breakers for your make and then email you back the results.
I used it before when I had a Renault Clio and I needed a new wing mirror, was much cheaper than buying new part from Renault.
