Mobile Friendly Site

Turn off pictures, thats what I did and it saved me a fortune. (y)

But yeah, would be good to have a mobile site. (y)

:)

Try out https://www.fiatforum.com/archive/

This wont keep you up to instant minute posts, but will make viewing for the forum a lot quicker.

What type of forum is it ( The Software )? It looks like vBulletin but I could be wrong as there are quite a few different brands.

Maybe there is a mobile skin out there for it??

not really a WAP kinda site but a more iPhone friendly site would be nice, but with the option to turn it off and us iPhone users get really annoyed as being stuck in crappy versions if we want to see something :p

or an iPhone app! the facebook one is actually very good!

Im sure some vbulletin based forums have a PDA option. I would like this so I could browse on the sofa on my mobile.

It would be good not just for iphone but for other mobiles too like Symbian S60/UIQ or WM5/6 phones.

I think everything would need to be scaled down image wise - no avatars and autodetect the screenwidth for portrait/landscape displays. Maybe just a modded skin? I can post some example sites if needed.

What would you need to make it iPhone friendly?

As for WAP - there is the archive as mentioned above, which you can actually log into and it will put all the posts in order - however - you can't post ... which sucks :)

it certainly doesnt like IE but this is the site:

http://iphone.facebook.com/

its a bit bigger and bolder to make it look nicer, here is a screenshot from the phone:

but where its really at its best is in the Facebook application! now something like this for here could be cool

The blonde on the right is pretty good looking ;)

Mobile users should try installing Opera Mini for their phone. It runs everything through Opera's servers and reduces pages in size by a tremendous amount (I think FF becomes 22kb) and makes it really speedy to load and easy to use :D I'd take it over Symbian's own web application any day (y)
