Hi
I have just bought a 1.9 JTD Sedici, and at 67k and no service history, I think it's safe to say I should get the timing belt/pump replaced.
I've had a look through the related forums, but can't see any mention of the best 'brand' of timing kit. Is there a favoured manufacturer out there? Something more robust than the cheap parts that my garage will inevitably source?
Thanks!

Get the belt and pump replaced asap.My belt snapped at less than 50,000 miles due mainly to seized pump.Car 2009 1.9 ddis

I replaced my original belt with a Continental Timing Belt, a German Brand, it's great

Gates is a good brand. Not to bad a job if you want to tattle it yourself. No special tools needed. Might as well do new anti freeze being it's got to be drained.

My water pump went at about 50K, didn't take the belt out with it though. I am surprised a water pump only lasts 50K, the one in my Toyota is still going strong at 165K. So yeah, you may as well get the timing belt and pump all done at the same time.
