HI, my wife's Sedeci 4x4 has condensation on the inside of the windscreen ever morning in the current weather. I have checked carpets and there doesn't appear to be any leaks. The car sits on the drive when not in use. Any ideas as to whether this is normal? If not any help on a solution would be appreciated.
In addition the clutch pedal creaks. I have sprayed with WD40 etc., where I think the problem is to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem and solved it?

The air is very damp at the moment. I get a bit of condensation too sometimes.

Yes I have had both these problems; you can almost smell the dampness inside, but I have never experienced lying water. Turn on the air conditioning if you have it, this will clear the problem in seconds.


As regards the clutch, W D 40 will quickly dry and become ineffective, try putting grease on it from both the cabin and engine side.


Are you diesel or petrol, if you have the six gear diesel you have probably experienced notchy gears, but that is quite normal.

Thank you for your response. I can't find any evidence of water leaking in to the car so it could be just the current weather conditions.

Thank you for your advice. Please se my response to PiersCM regarding the condensation. I had wondered if this was a general problem with Sedicis but it would appear that it is not.
I will try your advice on the clutch pedal squeek. It's more infuriating than anything else. I notice it but my wife doesn't. I must be a sensitive person!

I used to get condensation in my Seicento. I bought a "Condensation Trap" from the 99p shop and it cured the problem. It's a plastic pot of crystals which slowly turn to water over a period of about 4 /6 weeks.

Oh, sorry it has popped up now.

Never had either of these issues with our car. Our Coupe is terrible for it though this time of year. Water ingress can be the cause - sometimes a leaky or split door or boot seal can allow moisture in without the carpets getting that damp. Check them all carefully. If the screen is misting it may be either the air re-circulation flap is stuck shut - not allowing fresh air from outside. Press the re-circ button on the A/C knob (Eleganza?) and you should hear the flap close/open and a subtle change in air-flow speed. Another reason could be the Pollen Filter is clogged up. Accessed within the glovebox. If you look underneath the round black plastic housing contains the heater fan. You can un-do this and the casing with fan will drop down - ours was full of leaves first time I did it.

My filter was full of leaves too - and BLACK with dirt.
Only a fiver on eBay for a new white one.

The cold damp air will make the windscreen condensate more. If possible, try and park it so the sun (if any..) will shine on the windscreen, rather than the back of the car.

Thank you all for your comments. On the condensation I had a good look round to check for leaks - nothing that I could see. I checked the pollen filter and that also was OK. Strangely the problem has improved so fingers crossed.
The squeaky pedal has partly been solved in that I sprayed a different oil, I had been using WD40. I sprayed three places, the return spring on the clutch pedal, the pivot and the cable where it goes through the bulkhead and most of the squeak has gone. Not a good idea to spray all three at the same time, as we know, but at least it tells me I have narrowed the squeak down to three areas. When I get a minute I will spray each one in turn to see which was the problem point. Watch this space. I will report for the benefit of others.
