hi,my first post so hi to all.i have a 2006 1.6 sedici done 42k,i had car from new and had very few problems with it,but have noticed recently a constant clicking noise when steering on full lock or turning sharp corner,i took car into local kwik fit who tell me its a drop link at front that needs replaced.but needed some advice from other sedici users to see if this was a common problem and if i should take to a garage for a second opinion.thanks to anyone in advance who can help.

I have just googled the problem, and one answer coming up refers to the CV joints or driveshaft. I think you should refer it to a Fiat or Suzuki workshop. Good luck.

well i took to garage and they told me i need cv joint but said it comes as a complete unit costing over£300 as cant but just cv joint on its own is this correct?

EuroCarParts can do a CV joint kit (part no. 657582161) for £55, but only on order which their site states "usually dispatched in up to 6 weeks"... Not ideal, but try some of your local motor factors to see if any can help. The Suzuki SX4 version should be identical, so may be available via Blueprint Japanese part stockists.

Replacing CV joint not an easy DIY job; may not be the problem anyway; suggest careful inspection with front wheels off as brake disc shield may be touching; could also be the electric motor PAS; generally best to avoid using full lock anyway particular under full power.

I've had the brake disc shield get lodged into the wheel which made a loud ticking noise. But the noise wasn't dependent on the steering angle.

Turned out to be some gravel that had flicked up in my work car park and bend the brake shield. Took the wheel off and pinged the shield back into place.

Not saying that's what it could be, but that's what's happened to me.

Hey did you ever get this sorted? My grande 06 is having the same issue, and only when I steer to the right full lock I think.
