General sedici mpg

Hi

My 1.9 Eleganza averages around 40 - 42 mpg, depending on how and where I drive

Hi Tinytim

My previous car was a 2001 Marea WE 1.9 JTD which my son now has! It was more economical, think the Sedici is heavier because of the 4x4 gubbins. 40 -42 mpg is what the display says, but think I may be getting more. I hope the Sedici is going to be as reliable as the Marea which gave me 9 yrs and over 100,000 miles without problem!

Hi Tim,

Yes, like Steve I have a 1.9 Elganza and get 40 to 42. But I do like to wind it up through the gears.:)

Our 1.9 Multi does a genuine round town average of between 40 & 42mpg. On a run this gets considerably better and gets into the early 50's.

But to be honest 40mpg for a 4x4 is fantastic, my wifes 1.6 Megane front wheel drive never matched that (usually around 36mpg for the same journey).

My Q5 can only dream of that sort of MPG! I don't understand how manufacturers can be allowed to make such ridiculous claims about fuel econonmy (in my experience the Germans & Japanese are particularly liberal with the truth), in fact I think our little Sedici does exactly what Fiat claim (41 mpg average??). I've been most impressed with it.

now its run in in the 1.6 is delivering 39.1 mpg and power output has improved considerably; very comfortable driving position; soaks up bumps in the road; good all-round visibility; very pleased...

My 1.9 Multijet does 38mpg if i'm driving 'enthusiastically', about 44 mpg for day to day motorway and town driving, and up to 55mpg if i'm on an eco drive.

Mine seems to get similar results even if i've got aircon on, got a full tank, or using the 12v power.

Very happy with the diesel engine in these sedicis.

thats more like it for the 1.9JTD; I am now up to 41.9 on my 1.6 on my 10m country road commute with lots more power as she is run in; engine must be tightly built so bodes well for longevity but maybe the ECU is a slow learner....
