Technical Sedici Air-Con Stopped?

Tim yet the Condensor is the smaller Rad in front of the main one...
As you look through the front grill you can see it - there is an area of discolouration on the front so they presume thats the leaking. I'm not convinced and am having a local mobile AC specialist come for a second opinion.....
Like you my Coupe has never been regassed and still works fine.

Just to update guys - I got a second opinion from a mobile AC specialist - pressure tested OK and refilled and it was great on our recent hol to Devon and still no issues........
As long as it lasts the so-called summer I'll be happy as we may change for a Series 2 in 2011/12

My 07 sedici low pressure alu pipe cracked at bend due to bad design and lack of support bracket, will replace under warrenty but not re gas.

Exactly same issue as flashing oil light, but alas out of warranty... get this £195!!!!! bl##dy pounds from Fiat... yes I've tried lots of different sources.

Only the dealers can get the pipe... It's only some Goodridge hose and a bit of alloy with some 'O' rings but you have to buy the full pipe with pressure sensor even tho the unit is modular.

Anyhow, I'll try some Lab Metal first before being robbed!

The 1.9JTD engine is used in many different cars and vans not just Fiat ones so it may be worth checking for cars breaking on ebay or local scrappies for the part..........

I think this has happened to me?
Had the a/c re-gassed about 4 months ago and all was well.
Tried the a/c today, green light on, belts under the bonnet spinning, but no 'cold' air.
But no 'click'.
Will have to investigate further.
( No snow = a hot summer?!)

It happened twice to ours Piers. Its the only real issue we've had with ours. The pipe replacement sorted first time but its gone again now. We're putting our up for sale now so will leave for the next owner to sort. If its the Condensor they are not too pricey but it looks a little messy to extract / re-fit. As per yours - The compressor is turning so not that (as they are expensive!) The Climate Control on the Eleganza models generally works well - even without the AC working the temp is maintained if its within extremes......
Get it pressure tested by an expert with dye to see where the leak is.
I like AC but am yet to own a car where the AC has not failed for one reason or another?!

Euro Car Parts have a big sale on this weekend for Click & Collect orders from branch which might be useful - the difficulty is finding one with it in stock, I suspect.

Having had the condenser replaced, I made a rather natty stone guard grille, using some black, small wire mesh, borrowed tin snips, and 2 black ties.
Looks rather good for £12...
:)

I've read that the Sedici a/c is not so great.

On Friday, when the outside temperature read 30oC is was doing pretty well!
