Remote Locking on Punto Pure impossible ?

Hi All,
I just joined fiatforum. Warm greeting to everyone.

I got a Punto Pure 1.2 Petrol couple of days back. I wanted to install remote locking as it is tedious to lock all the doors when I step out. As this is my first ever car, I did not give much attention to details like this -- But next time I will know better.

So I took the car to a spare parts shop. The moment the guy saw Punto, he said "I dont think this going to work". He opened up the driver seat door and inspected it and confirmed that remote locking cannot be installed. I guess there is already a gun there which locks the door when the car has achieved 20km/hr speed and this is preventing it. Is there anyone out there who has installed this on Pure or Grande Punto active ? I hope they are identical. And Is it possible to install remote lock for all the 3 door except driver door ? That will save me a lot of trouble.

Don't know the "pure" but if the car has automatic locking (anti hijack) it should be even easier to add remote locking as the actuator is already there. As long as the actuator unlocks as well as locks you just need the remote receiver and a coule of relays.

I should have taken a snap when they removed the door cover. I missed it. I received a call from Fiat Authorized service center. Even they asked me to take the car to the workshop. They will inspect the car and tell me whether remote locking can be installed. It's ironic that they dont know much about their own car

Try a different fiat dealer if they're scratching their heads. Fiat used to do a remote lock kit that could be added after production.

Looking at specs its Negative locking

I took the vehicle to an authorized service center. They said the current lock is not electric actuator or something. They replaced the front passenger door with the part number: 59064307. Now when I lock my driver door, the front passenger door also locks.

The part number looks a bit different. But as long as they fit and work, we are okay.
You go ahead and get it done, As it is possible.
I am going to do the same for remaining 2 doors when I go for service in December.
I will get a remote lock as well.

Hi actually I do own punto pure diesel version and I have installed remote lock in my car and it’s working fine
