Hey guys, I installed a hawk alarm to my car over the weekend. Everything works perfectly except the remote engine start function. When used the remote engine start will successfully turn over the engine in an attempt to start it, however there is no spark from the coil packs. The engine turns over and starts perfectly fine with the key, so it looks to me like the standard immobiliser is preventing the engine from running.

When I installed the alarm I also installed an immobiliser relay which activates when the alarm triggers, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to deactivate the standard immobiliser?

Thanks.

Tape your key up inside the steering column, the receiver is near the ignition barrel and reads the code from the chip on the key.
Not sure your insurers would be too happy about that though!
Other than that, I know the old ECUs could be disabled by changing the chip, not sure about the Mk2 Punto.

Thanks, I'll give it a go and let you know if it works, do you by chance know if the keys transponder receives a voltage from the ignition barrel?
