Yup - the more you tell Mr Lightfingers that your car will electrocute him before he touches it the better. A visual deterrent prevents him getting in to find out for himself
The flashing light on the vertical panel is feeble and not visible from all angles like the fascia top, on e.g. the Mini which sounds like it's where Luigi has put his flasher.

Fair enough but if you connected the red LED wire to +30 and black wire to +15 it would come on by itself when you switched ignition off, won't need a battery and it won't flash and distract you when driving at night

I'll wack a pic up of the led asap, the alarm system fitted is the fiat meta alarm

Just one thing..............
If you connect the poss side of an led to the ignition switch circuit. and the neg side of an led to permanent live circuit the led will light up when you turn the key off,it works as the led find the nearest path to earth. Tech stuff.

Hey this is looking good - someone who knows car electrics.. Could you elucidate a bit more on the +30 -15 part please? (Also would it need a resistor?)

If only there was a wiring diag for the Fiorino somewhere. I'm rather hopeful that when I go to pick up my new side door connector I can ask the head service guy who chatted to me, if I can 'obtain' such a thing or a means to see one.

+30 is a battery live (permanent)
+15 is a ignition live (switched)

2 lives will not bring the LED on obviously but when you switch the ignition off the LED finds a earth through the ignition switch....simples

Just buy a 12 volt led, I've got one in my ''collection'' that blinks red and blue alternately from wong for about £2.
