Hi,

I am looking at a new car alarm system I have been looking at the Viper 5902 as it comes with remote start etc. Would anyone recommend this alarm or is there any better ones I should be looking at instead??

Sorry didnt mention its a Punto Mk2 Active Sport x

Needs to be Canbus compatible then. I've looked at the Viper 5902 online and couldn't see anything saying that it was on the Viper website.

For it to function fully with the cars existing control units, so the alarm can operate the hazards, central locking etc

Punto Mk2 Active Sport

This is not on Canbus only the Grande Punto onwards was running on Canbus
Any alarm will fit the above

The majority of Fiats from turn of the 00's have a canbus system. Are you saying the mk2 Punto hasn't got one at all, or that the hazards/C.locking are not controlled by the canbus out of interest

The grande punto is running on canbus
the mk2 has part canbus ie Radio but analogue signals for locking and hazards
Grande uses optical connections for alarm hazards
