No. Them one's the churp when you walk past them want me to just pick up and brick and draw more attention to the car. Just get a normal £60 alarm and fit it oyurself, its not that hard to fit an alarm, honest!

Jon.

Re: Should i buy a Clifford Cat 1

You are paying for quality. Clifford, if fitted by an authorised dealer is very good. Whats the use having a 60 pound alarm if someone will be able to bypass it.

We are authorised dealers for all major alarm makes including clifford, viper, toad, autowatch and cobra. Clifford is the most reliable alarm and the most popular alarm in the UK market. Where are you based as the price 350 pounds is the going price. Just make sure its an authorised dealer fitting the system.

Re: Should i buy a Clifford Cat 1

i think if you get one fitted ti lowers insurance doesnt it?

anyway to my point.....

what do you do when you here a car alarm going off? (im guessing nothing as that what most of us do)

therfore i feel its better to get an immobiliser as that will stop theiving bastards nicking your car rather than just making an annoying noise.

It depends on your insurance company if you get a discount on your insurance. Some give a discount and some don't. If you have one installed don't tell them you have one already fitted, best to ask them how much discount they will get if you get one fitted and then tell them you have one once they tell you the discount you will get.

An alarm is better then an immobiliser as you get multi point immobiliser.

If it's at college or home I investigate. But I think £350 for an alarm thats going to save you £5-£10 a year in insurance is silly.

And the advantage of an alarm over imobiliser is it goes off to prevent people from taking stuff from the car, and imobiliser just stops them taking the car until they put it onto a low loader

Re: Should i buy a Clifford Cat 1

The clifford ones can be a pain with the constant churping but it can be switched off..

I had one on my old car and had the anti-hijack and all the which was pretty cool.. if not annoying having to punch a code in every time..

Although the turbo timer was very useful and remote central locking is always nice

You could also add on the remote start part which is useful in the winter.. if a bit illegal

Re: Should i buy a Clifford Cat 1

Remote starts arent illegal they just remove the cat 1 classification from the alarm if you put it on.

Ive just had a clifford put on mine and its good so far. Didnt have proximity sensors because imo they make it look like you have something to protect so more likely to draw unwanted attention to the car.

I do believe it is a ciminal offence to leave a motor vehicle running on the road, unattended

So technically remote starts are

Go for Cat 1 Alarm, but I would recommend Clifford sister company Viper. No beeps but, beeps make your car a target to be hit with a bat....think about it "beep" "beep" now tell me a car doing that, to someone would not rub them up the wrong way...

Re: Should i buy a Clifford Cat 1

You only get the beeps on the proximity sensors and when you lock and unlock the car. So if you dont have the proximity sensors only beeps when you lock and unlock it.
