Hello - no doubt it will be annoying to see another one of these topics! I do apologise in advance but have had a search already.

I have a Fiat Punto MK2 (mia) which did not come with central locking. Whilst I'm good with electronics, if I order one of these universal central/remote (ebay/Maplin) locking systems how easy will they be to fit? I know nothing about cars - no idea how to take the doors off, where to mount any control boxes etc.

Oh, same with electric windows?

Also --- where I have 4/5 big buttons on the centre dashboard bit, what's the blank one on the right for?

Thanks.

hey to fit the remote locking unit u DONT TAKE THE DOOR OFF, all of the wiring and fitting the main unit is done under the drivers kick panel, its located near the fuse box, there will be alot of wires, u need to wire the remote locking unit to the wires that are connect by the drivers door not the passengers door.

i brought my remote locking from rclick.co.uk, they give you installtion guide aswell as a exact wiring diagram for your car.

the button is a spare button, u can add what ever u like there
