Hi there.
I have a 2002 Scudo 1.9EL (non turbo).
On start-up from cold it sounds really rough for a few seconds until I give it a bit of revs. It then sounds ok. It sounds like piston slap.
At first I thought "oil starvation" but every now & then during the day and usually when it's idling the revs suddenly drop a bit, it sounds a bit lumpy and I get a cloud of white smoke from the exhaust and a smell of diesel. Once I give it a little blip of the throttle it clears and runs fine again.
Any ideas ??
I've read on a few forums about it possibly being the "cold start solenoid". Anyone know where this is and what sort of job it is to replace ?
