Hi, this morning i set off in my scudo sx dynamic jtd .2.0 Gone about 200 yds up to set of lights and heard a slight screeching sound from engine , went through lights another 50 yds heard it again , going app 30 mph upto another set of lights and a big clunk and dead , just felt like when you take your foot off the clutch when in gear... The engine will start ok but now the clutch pedal cannot be pressed its solid .. Please help..

Thanks for the reply is that gona be expensive you recon are is it not as bad as a new clutch... I can move the arm and it does seem a bit loose . The pedal was stuck to the floor after pulling it back up its now solid and wont go down at all

sounds like the issue is in the hydraulics.. NOT the clutch itself..

Sorry but I doubt it's the hydraulics. If the pedal was solid down maybe, but not up. Either the release arm, release bearing or clutch cover has failed so there is nothing moving. Also hydraulics would not have made thr initial noises.
Be interesting to hear what the garage finds.

Can get all gears very smooth , clutch pedal will not push down .....

it's an odd one certainly..,
the noises do point to the release bearing..,:(

but the pedal being SOLID.. , and having been initially stuck down on the floor:chin:

OP stescudo this is the basics of the system..,

My thoughts are that the slave cylinder is fully extended with no force from the arm/bearing/spring to push it back. When the OP lifted the pedal this refilled the master cylinder so now it's solid. I've also seen a cracked bellhousing cause this sort of problem. I can't see ePer at the moment as I'm at work and our system blocks it.

P.S. on the fluid level, re-filling the system with slave fully extended will lower the level and you have to take the gauze out to see exactly how low it is.

Hi, update, garage said the clutch was goosed, they also said it was a nightmare coz its a special clutch a `push me pull me clutch` does that make sense to any of you ? Any way the damage is £290.. They is no way of checking if they fitted a clutch dont suppose.......

Look for a hint of shiny new parts around upper part of gbox. Just the additional hoses.etc..the plate is buried inside.

It may FEEL a bit different ..as a new plate will have to bed in..

Ask them how long for..that might give a clue from their reaction

Tbh. 290 fitted is pretty cheap

Well back on the road now.All seems well, very smooth gear change, nice soft easy to push pedal. I asked what make clutch, he put a LUK in coz thats what came out.. Used to hear a whining noise before the clutch went but that seems to have gone now.So all in all good job done.. Thanks for all your advice..
