Hi....looks like i need to tackle a glow plug change on my 03 scudo.
It needed easi start all winter and is alot slower to start this year than last during the warmer weather.

So ive been reading up on it and other vehicles with the same engine seem to be a real pig to change...talking about unmounting one side of the engine to tip it forward. Is it really that difficult? Perhaps im being stupid but it looks like i can see the plugs on the front of the engine, needing some other bits moving to get to them. The reason i question it is because ive read they are on the back of the engine...is that right?

any help would be appreciated.

If you can see them on the front then that's that... Happy days.
I reckon what you've heard or read is not for the same engine as what is in your van.

So I was going to have a go at changing the heater plugs tomorrow...that was until my van stalled 3 times on the way home today. Ive needed easy start every time ive started it today so knew it was maybe becoming a bigger problem than just the heater plugs.

Got an error code come up P0230 Fuel Pump primary circuit malfunction!

Anyone got any thoughts? I hear an electrical pump sound every time i start it so didnt think it was the pump itself. Where do i start with this?

Just to add, i removed the inlet hose on the fuel filter turned on the ignition and fuel poured out...So it does work but could it still be lacking pressure? Any help with this would be appreciated.

Theres a three electrical connections i unplugged on the wiring loom of the injectors. Not the wiring that goes on the injectors, but ones that could be connected to sensors. Could one of these cause the fault?

Hello
Just fixed the exact same error code. See the very next thread.

Just to wrap this thread up the glowplugs were easy as on the front, just need to disconnect the electrics for the injectors and maybe the expansion tank for access. In the end my starting problems and stalling was down to a dodgy injector. swapped for a second hand one and sorted.
