Hi,
I recently had an altercation with a hilux tow bar which my insurance company are reluctant to settle and/or are likely to write off my van. It still runs and drives fine but the front end is a mess.

Does anyone have experience of replacement of everything back to the intercooler? I'd appreciate a heads up on any pit falls.

I'd also be very grateful of any exploded views or parts lists to ensure I get everything covered.

Is this the old mode or should i say old face lift model? Its mostly just plastic. Bumper grill ect. Dont know your damage. Hows the wings and bonnet. Some wings can bolt on some need a spot weld You wont know if the metal is bent under the bumper. As for parts picture try the manual

It might be downloadable on this forum also.

Face lift model. With the exception of the bonnet latch strut all the metal work looks good. Thanks for the guidance doesn't sound too daunting (for a GPZ1100 owner :)).

Manuals are much appreciated. Cheers.

What model is your GPz? Mine was the A. The mono shock air cooled model (Unitrak) Sold it last October to fund the Peugeot Expert to build into a mini camper. Sam model as yours but pre face lift.

It's an '84 A2. Still got the original black chrome exhausts. Has been unused for a couple of years so needs a bit of LTC. Never really got on with it as much as I'd hoped. The GSXR streetfighter is much more fun to ride :)

There is a 750 turbo forum and a lot of guys change the wheels, swinger and forks from other bikes to get the more modern handling and better tyre choice. You 18" like the 750? The 750 only had 37mm forks what was crap as i felt it flexed more on faster bends. I ended up getting sick of the standard bike so got the rattle can black out and went naked.

Guy in London also liked the look and bought it and sent a courier up to collect it. Think its a courier bike now but the engine was sweet and low millage so he would get a few years out it yet. Im thinking of an early ZX10 non runner as my next project for next year.

I much prefer them naked, looks good in the black. The 11 is in 'Harrier' black as it was previously owned by MoD personnel. Yep 18" but I've got a 16" rear that I was going to graft in to the Z1000H project but swapped the H for the 11. Never considered putting it in the 11 but might be worth a go. Both the 11 and the GSXR fighter (picture attached) are for sale as they are impractical for the lanes round here. Looking for a nice, cheap enduro (400+ cc) or supermoto if you know of anything.

Anyway, just heard from the insurance and the van is a write off but they are prepared to settle. The buy back price is a bit too steep to consider the rebuild after all. So it's off to the classifieds or EBAY to start hunting :-(
