Just replaced alternator in my 'new' 2002 Turbo Diesel 2 litre Scudo. Easy job, but I cant get the new fanbelt to fit!!

It is the correct belt as it is same length as old (snapped) one

Car does not have A/C and only instructions I keep finding relate to cars WITH A/C pumps.

the pulley setup includes an eccenrically mounted pulley which will allow a bit of slack when you loosen the centre bolt. It also includes some kind of spring-loaded pulley at the top.

I just sliced my hand on this spring loaded pulley - so I am a bit dissapointed with my first week of scudo ownership!!

Any advice would be much appreciated

Cheers, I managed it now, but I was working on ramps so couldn't get clearance for a long long bar. Had to do it with a normal ring spanner, my hand is now in pain.

The alfa romeo forum was helpful, I think they use same engine (?)
