A performance air filter on a Scudo, OK, & why do you ask? Do you think you will gain any performance? or am I reading this wrong? Do you just want replace the original paper one with one that you just have to clean every now & then.
By adding a cone filter will not give any more power, infact you will probably lose some low down grunt, the very thing that you do want. Blanking off the EGR valve will generally make a difference. You will probably have to drill a 5mm hole in the plate to allow some gases to get through, this stops the fault light coming on, but I'm unfamiliar with the Scudo.
I'm sure you can fit any filter, or leave off the filter entirely (the ultimate "filter tune") - but unless there's such a shortage of air that the fuel isn't being burnt properly, it won't make any difference (except increase induction noise...), 'cos the standard filter is OK+.
