Several recent posts might be related to this, but I haven't found the answer in them.
I'm told in the early 2000's there were two versions of the 1997 cc JTD engine. The simpler one with aprox 94 hp, and an intercooled one with aprox 109 hp. (Sources differ on the exact engine power, maybe due to using hp, ps, or bhp)
I also notice some Scudo's from that time are called "X9 JTD EL" while some are called "2.0 JTD". Both have 1997 cc.
My question: is the name the key to identifying whether it's a 94 or 109 hp, or does one need to look if there's an intercooler, or is the intercooler not even a reliable way to differentiate the engines ?
Several mechanics I spoke to deny that there is more than one version, they say the 1997 cc JTD all have 109/110 hp.
Thanks if someone can solve the mystery !
