Hello Hello!

I'm looking for a little help with my Van please?

Had it a year, never had one before so had no idea of performance but somehow thought it may be sluggish on the acceleration. It gets there in the end and plods about okay, but also on longer uphill runs it'll struggle to maintain speed too. It seems to perk up slightly once warmed up.
A trip to the local garage at service time, had them confirming that it "felt sluggish" to them too. They offered no ideas...

I have also an amount of oil leaking from what i think is the Intercooler pipe, at a junction above the engine.

Could you please help with a few parts to try cleaning, changing out, etc?
EGR perhaps? Vacuum pump/pipes?
I want to try repairing as many things as i can, but usually open the bonnet and just shut it again as i have no idea where most things are! Can't understand why there's no Haynes or other manual available! grrr...

Thanks for your help in advance

"never had one before so had no idea of performance"

It should go like stink if it's a 16v.

If you've got a leak in an intercooler pipe that will not help performance or fuel consumption. Where's the pipe (picture)?

Think I've both sussed the Workshop Manual thing and where the EGR is.

New issue, and its a good one!...

When rolling up to a stop, change down through gears and come to a stop on the clutch and second gear. Change to first to be ready to pull away and it cuts out between gears!
It'll then start fine.
Its an intermittent problem, it doesn't happen all the time, and i've had a play about when its happened at lights and it'll stall again from second to first, and fourth to third too.
It's done it at slow speeds changing fourth to third for a sharp bend too.
There's no warning, like rough running or anything and it'll just cut out.

Any ideas or similar happenings?

cheers y'all.
