AS above.....Ive been told that my engine has seized......regularly serviced, recent new timing belt fitted.....oil and water fine.....any ideas why or even how it has seized and is it better to fix or get a 2nd hand engine ???

This is being used as a taxi and need to be sorted and back on the asap !!!

My Taxi engine seized...result of road debris shredding halfway across aux fan belt and the shards feeding into cam-belt via water-pump. It caused the month old cam-belt to slip several teeth. It was a good engine, well tended and decided to repair it.

One problem led to another non stop in the repair that took £5000 in Garage bills. £3000 in alternative Taxi rental and took 5 months to finish the nightmare. The knock on stresses that happen everywhere in the engine when it seizes are unbelievable.

Take advice...as a working taxi time is of the essence...find a replacement engine...compatible to your ecu and other odds n sods...hear it running if possible...all 2nd engines claim to come from rear shunt insurance write off when driven by old lady who only used it for church on Sundays...Be Lucky!
