Hi, Have a 1.9D EL Scudo van which I've had for 11 years.
In the last year it will cut out when cornering on roundabouts or similar junctions.
It will also sometimes surge on roundabouts like it is getting a burst of acceleration like I'm putting my foot down. It doesn't happen everyday but may do it after a long run like coming off at a motorway junction, or when queuing in slow moving traffic then entering a roundabout.
It now seems to be happening more often.
It will usually start again straight away and that's it for that day, so I don't hold anyone up and its not a problem, but worried its about to develop into something serious which could of been an easy fix if addressed earlier.
Wondered if it could be a fuel pump problem or electrical? Intrigued as it only happens on bends.

Have you tried filling the fuel tank & see if it cuts out, maybe the pump is struggling to send fuel up to the engine if it's sloshing to one side?
Check the earth strap from the body to the engine.
Is the power steering pump making any weird noises when you turn the steering wheel?
Check the idle air control valve, could be faulty & they're a cheap fix.

Thanks for the reply. Fuel levels make no difference. No noises from Power Steering pump, in fact just had new belt. Earth strap all good. Van runs like a dream, and serviced regularly. Starts first time everytime and ticks over nice, just this one issue that puzzles everyone I ask about it, hence asking on the Fiat Forum.

Have a look at the air idle control valve, they're only £20 0n Ebay.
