hello everyone! :D

this is my first post ever on a forum and would really appreciate your feedback and advice! i usually look online for anwers but I'm forced to post as I'm really stuck on this.

first off i will just say what issues i have at this moment to not complicate things. i need some serious egg heads out there or this.

i have 54 plate fiat scudo 1.9d. when i switch the ignition on the glow plug light doesn't come on but van starts and runs sweet! every couple days i go to start the van and i have no engine management light on ignition and van won't start! i got unburnt diesel spewing out the exhaust so i manually turn on glow plugs via jump lead from battery.... she starts, runs like crap, engine is much louder and knockier than normal but i wouldn't go as far as a full blown diesel knock because my dad had it when his timing was out on is expert and we thought his engine dropped a valve! :yuck:
anyway i won't drive my van now because i went 20 yards and no power so.

i tried putting a new double relay on and it did solve it for a couple days then problem came back. i tried others from scrappy and it kind of works then doesn't again. last night my red stop light and oil light disappeared! i unplugged double relay they came back on. intermittent now. when the engine management light comes on its starts and runs fine again??? also when i press brake on and off the dash lights dim and illuminate?? sometimes when i turn engine off it keeps running with key out only to then take my foot of the brake which cuts off engine lol, then put foot back on brake to turn ignition on, what the actual f is going on??
list of other things that don't work now, here goes...

cigerette lighter, possible rusty contacts, did work but not now,
no horn, mass air flow meter not working - was starving my engine of air and judder at certain revs and lots of unburnt diesel so i unplugged it and throttle body diaphram opened fully after being closed shut. now doesn't do anything when i plug it back in.
no airbag! wtf?? no airbag light showing?? got 12m mot when i bought it. maybe guy unplugged light who knows. don't know if it would affect the electrics.
did have missing bulbs in back lights when i bought it but i put new ones in, and correct volts and watts.
central locking only in cab. found two disconnected wires in back door? plumbing company disconnected it to stop people braking in.
immobiliser was playing up but put new battery sorted that out in key fob.
i have white tip ex marks on every sensor, earth, component, bsi, ecu plug connectors you name it, someones been checking everything before.
one of the front lights is broken where the bolts go in, failed mot on headlamp to high, possible bump in past, would it affect my van due to crash senser?

i changed diesel pump advance solenoid as my old man had spare pump, changed the throttle position sensor, no change even when i unplug it.

i thought it was bsi unit on the way out but does it control all these things or just alarm system?
its happened twice when i put load in back, could be coincidence

please help me!!!!!!

Everything troublesome part you mentioned has to take instruction from the ECU so that's where I'd start first.

Ok cheers mate! I spoke to a really we'll known diagnostics guy and he said probably won't have any stored codes so do I test it anyway? £150 for ecu bsi and ignition barrel. If that doesn't work it's money down the drain

Have a read of Fiat Scudo 2.0 JTD 2003 WILL NOT START! down below, guy was able to buy a 2nd hand ECU for £25 & have it reprogrammed to suit his van for £45.
Anyway, the EML light not coming on might suggest your ECU has failed. No harm to have a look at the wiring next time you have no EML, wiggle the loom around & see if the light comes on.
