All other dashboard lights seem OK. I can't see an odometer (mileometer) reading, though - the LCD (I assume) is blank. If I press the trip reset I can convince myself that by cupping a hand over the display I can just see a numeral "2".

Perhaps it's a blown bulb?

Having read some other threads, it seems that getting the instrument panel out is a matter of removing visible screws, and air vent which may have a screw hidden under it, and a screw above the steering column cowling.

That done, how does the instrument panel come out? Just pull out towards the driver, or what?
 
The problem was indeed a blown bulb. TYVM.
 
hi. was it a digital lcd odometer? if so how come a blown bulb was causing the problem. i have a digital odometer with nothing readable on it
