hi, just had to stop driving my 03 2.0 jtd. stop light came on and temp hit red, so stopped immediately and water had sprayed over the top half of the engine.

now as i fill the expansion take, the water immediately trickles right where i think is the fuel rail, behind it. its directly below the filler on the expansion take to the right of the oil filler pipe. i cant see it dripping anywhere from above.

any ideas anyone...?

so its a core plug leak by the looks of it. anyone successfully fixed this?

luckily for me it seems i have....went to a local supplier bought a couple of core plugs for £4, took out the one with a pin prick hole in it, pushed the other in with a little gasket seal on it and job done

Well done! I levered out a core plug on an old Morris with a screwdriver, and replaced that. Result! Glad to see old tech is still about.
