Hi all, new here so be gentle lol ?
I have a 2002 scudo van with what i believe to be the 2.0 JTD 110 bhp engine, i am process of removing gearbox to replace a leaking rear main seal but cannot separate the release bearing from either the clutch fork or the clutch cover on this pull type system, i work as a VAG technician so not afraid of a challenge but on investigation it appears i need to remove the pin which goes through the clutch fork so allow the box to be removed with the bearing left on clutch cover... Is this correct so far? Well the pin is siezed and as a result i have managed to shift it about 1/2" before the slot on the pin which i managed to get a suitable slide hammer and attatcment on decided to break off! ?
I now am undecided to attempt to drill and tap the pon to draw it off with an 8mm thread or to drill the gearbox opposite and drift the pin through? Is this normal or am i missing something as i have no data on this vehicle? I will post a pic of pin etc.
many thanks ??

This is the pin... Do i remove this pin to release the bearing? ?

Sorry, don't think I can help with this one. In spite of it being tagged a 'JTD', I think the 2.0 diesel in the Scudo is in fact a PSA unit (?) so won't have much in common with our little Multipla unit - or the gearbox.

Either way, I don't recognise the pin in the photo.

So you're driving the clutch lever axle out? Sounds like bad idea.

No experience on pull type clutches, but the thrust bearing is supposed to detach somehow?

Does the housing have inspection covers?
Maybe it is released somehow like this:

If you can look at the new thrust bearing/pressureplate, maybe it can give a clue (search google/ebay or something).
