Hi all, new to the forum and have a question regarding the rear door lock. I have a 57 plate 2.0 and think it's agreat little van, but the locks are a problem. The passenger door kept saying it was open when it wasn't.....got that sorted by altering the micro switch slightly. However, we are still having problems with the rear door lock. It locks on the remote no problem, but refuses to unlock on the remote......it can be opened manually from inside the van......don't know about the key, as the lock is badly corroded and won't work. It used to unlock on the remote, but stopped working a few weeks ago. I have replaced the lock mechanism but still have the problem so suspect it's the wiring, the wires from the multi plug behind the lights to the multi plug on the lock seem fine (tested continuity) so it might be in the loom.......any ideas where might be a prime place to look? Any bends that seem to cause problems? Any advice or thoughts most welcome.
Thanks in advance
Neil

I had a similar problem with a new door but, in that case, the Lock Specialists sent me a complete new assembly. However, if you have replaced the barrel, you will be familiar with the way the barrel fits into the door frame, ie, usually secured with a single screw, Have you tightened this screw ( or any others which might be fitted to your particular door), too much? It's worth leaving the barrel securing screw/s a bit loose and letting the barrel assembly "float" while you check the operation of the key. It may be that the barrel/lock mechanism is too far in, or out, of it's housing, and is fouling something within the door frame where, there is not much clearance.

There's lots of posts about dodgy door locks, type in 'Scudo door lock' into the search link just below the blue line where it says 'downloads'. You should find any info you need there.
