Hi,
I've got a 2008 Scudo and the drivers door has a fault. It's telling me it's open when it is shut which means I can't lock the van. I believe it's down to a microswitch in the lock itself. My question is: Does anyone know of a cheap fix that doesn't involve changing the lock? i.e can the right wire be disconnected and is so does anyone know which wire that might be?
Thanks

Doors generally have a micro switch in the door pillar, in the form of a small plastic rod thats pushed in when the door closes. Try finding this and pushing it in with your finger-see if the alarm goes out. If it does it is likely a problem with the door hanging adjustment

The micro switches are actually in the locking mechanism. As the catch closes over the keep, it passes over and presses in the micro switch. I had a similar problem on my 57 plate passenger door. We removed the lock mechanism and actually melted the top of the micro switch slightly with a hot screwdriver, raising it so the catch has better contact with it, making sure it's well pressed in.......it has worked a treat so far (done a week ago)
