Right then, took the van out today and drove about 10miles, on restart the dash gave a power steeering pump warning. checked the fluid, fuses and relays, no problems. AA man said its is the power cable to the pump, its been worn partially through by a breather hose. I'm pretty competent with most stuff but big thick electric cables are not my favourite. Has anyone replaced this cable? How easy was it?

Had same problem last year, turned out the motor on the pump was worn out.
Expensive to replace but I had wasted a lot of time replacing cables and earths etc first.

Cheers, just spoken to the mechanic and the pump has failed, if we replace it does it need programming etc or is it a case of bung it on and away we go?

Dunno yet, garage have found someone who reconditions the pump so waiting for it to be sorted
