Hi Guys

FIAT SCUDO L1 DIESEL 10Q 1.6 Multijet 90 H1 Comfort Van.........2007

Steering wheel suddenly went tight and battery light came on and engine cut out, I waited 2 mins and turned the engine over, it started no problem so I thought get it too the garage, on the way (Around 2 miles in total) it threatened to cut out a few times and it flashed up for 1 secong " Engine Fault " so I tried keeping to the same speed in same gear, I got it to garage and they ran the computer on it, it showed up 2 intermittent faults, I left it with them and they came back saying it was the Fuse Box, they got an entire new one and fitted it but alas it is still doing the same, they said they have checked for earths, loose connections, cleaned with " Contact solution " (Think that was the name) but still no good, I am not sure what else they have checked and they are awaiting a call back from Fiat for suggestions, can anyone throw any suggestions my way that I could give to them.. Thanks in Advance.. Dave

Had a similar problem last year with my 2007 1.6 Scudo (new shape), driving down the motorway it just died, got it onto hard shoulder, left it ten minutes and fired it up, stopped three more times on the way to the garage, but managed to start it again every time, every time it cut out the display would say "anti pollution faulty" and the engine management light would illuminate, as soon as the management light went out it would restart.
The garage computer said it was the high pressure fuel valve so it was changed, three miles from the garage it did exactly the same thing, this time they said it was a blocked cat but it made no difference, this cutting out went on for two months with no one having any idea what "anti pollution faulty" meant.
I eventually took it to a small independent garage where they immediately replaced the high pressure fuel SENSOR on the end of the rail, bingo, a van that I can trust once again.
