I need to change the coolant on my 2004 Scudo 2.0JTD. Can't find any videos on Youtube, but found one for for a 2002 Peugeot 406 HDI. Is this the same/similar procedure?

If not, how does mine differ? Are there drain plugs like on the Peugeot? Also, what antifreeze is recommended? I have the red stuff in at the moment, but have some new bottles of the blue coloured antifreeze in garage. Is blue OK, or are these vehicles fussy about a certain type of coolant?

Many thanks for any advice.

got blue in mine same motor as yours I think I disconnected hoze on bottom of radiator to drain it

Thanks for your reply. When I said 'drain plugs', I actually meant bleed plugs. On the video for the 206 HDI, he fills the resevoir with new coolant, and as it starts coming out of each bleed plug, he closes each plug in turn.

On the video, there is a plug on the top of rad, one on thermostat cover and one on top of heater matrix. I think I have found a bleed plug next to where top hose joins the rad (is this actually a bleed plug?) and there seems to be a plug that needs an Allen key in t/stat cover. Is there one for the heater matrix wherever that may be? Any more bleed plugs?

Just jumping on this thread as it's the exact same question I need to ask for the same vehicle!

Does the thermostat not need taking out to drain the full system? Or will it drain with a combination of the cylinder block drain and rad lower hose removed?

Also, I previously had an XUD 1.9 motor in a Citroen (basically the same right?) and seem to remember there was something very fussy about the anti-freeze used to avoid cylinder head damage.....

Any learned opinions on this? Obviously I know not to mix the colours etc....

Thanks, and Whitespirit66 hope these answers will help you too ;-)
