Hi all,

As the title heater blower(s, recirc blower also working fine at full) works on full all the time. However blower on works on part speed occasionally but mostly does not work below 4 (full).

I have a feeling there is a relay that shunts in the blower speed controller and at full (4) just puts a direct 12v to the motors bypassing the speed controller.

Can anyone confirm or deny my thoughts above and tell me where the relay (if there is one) is located and what number it is. Ideally an electrical diagram of the heater circuit would be perfect if some-one has such.

The fault is sometimes intermittent which I know would suspect me to wiring / loose connection, but want to check the simple stuff first, i.e. not a stuck relay.

If not this any thoughts on what it could be, and how to get behind the heater control panel, where the fan speed controller is located?

Any help appreciated, please remember this is a new style Scudo however and the usual suspect of resitor etc from the Old Scudo are not so relevant.

After the initial bulk load of warranty issues this is the one niggle left I have with the vehicle now with 180K on it, but otherwise running OK. I've also tried trolling the citroen and peugeot forums to no avail.

Hi Geof,
The problem you have is the connector to the heater resistor. In particular the second pin in as you view it is situ. It is located behind the left lower corner of the glovebox. You can just access the connector by pulling out the storage bin to the left of the glove box. If you wiggle it you can normally get it to work (need engine running). If you run it on speed 3 in particular you will observe that the second pin wire gets very hot. This is due to a poor connection in the plug. The only long term solution is to remove the glovebox (a real pain) cut off the connector and solder the wires directly onto the resistor pack sliding some heat shrink over each wire afterwards for added protection. This is quite a common problem on these but I didn't know that till I'd replaced the resistor 3 times (which can just be done with the glovebox in place)
Hope this helps, Rich

Quick query for a numpty, how do you replace the resistor? Going to try this before I try to sort wiring problem
